Chairman’s
Statement: In the absence of Roy, who is sick, Brian Tokely took
the chair for this meeting and asked for the committee’s
good wishes to be conveyed to Roy for a speedy recovery.
Minutes of the last meeting: The minutes of the last meeting were
reviewed and recorded as a true record.
Matters Arising:
Personal Complaints: As recorded in the last meeting minutes Roy
is to write a statement to the membership laying out procedures
for the handling of Personal Complaints through the CRA Committee
to Masa.
Action Roy Pugh – Carried Forward
Address to the CRA Membership: ‘The Story So Far’
this address was distributed with the April New Camposol Courier,
extra copies of this publication are still available at the CRA
desk in the B Commercial Post Room.
Road Report: brought forward from the last meeting.
Action: Roy Pugh to write a thank you letter to the originators
of this report.
Liaison with the Ayuntamiento: Brian Tokely read through the minutes
of his meeting with Councillor Galvez, a copy of which can be
found on the New Camposol Courier website and will also be documented
in the May edition of the magazine. Matters arising from this
meeting are as follows:
Housing for Post Boxes on sectors B,C and D:
Brian reported that Jacqueline had asked if the committee would
consider going back to a former suggestion, put forward by the
previous CRA Liaison Committee, whereby post boxes would be erected
in designated areas for each pologino, (as seems to be the case
in many other urbanizations). The committee discussed this at
length and stated that yes, this idea was put forward by the previous
committee and although much work had been completed by the former
committee on this subject and the suggested areas for each poligono
was documented to the appropriate parties their efforts had been
ignored hence the current situation.
The committee consider the present situation to be totally unsatisfactory
and re-iterated that their subsequent request was still valid
whereby post boxes should be placed in areas that are dry, safe
and secure.
Brian agreed to re-visit this issue with Councillor Galvez at
his next meeting and the committee agreed that this issue should
also be re-visited with Masa at their next meeting.
Action: Brian Tokely and Mary Cooper
Dispensing Farmacia: Councillor Galvez agreed to consult with
the Institute of Farmacists reference the current situation and
will report back at the next meeting.
Medical Centre for Camposol: Jacqueline will inform the CRA of
the actual start date for this facility as soon as it is known.
Correos Office: Although a unit has been earmarked for a future
Correos within the Sector B Commercial Centre, it is thought the
opening will be delayed on this venture due to funds not been
allocated by the Correos for this current year.
IBI Bills: Recently residents on Sector C have received Impuesto
sobre Bienes Inmuebles (IBI) bills. These bills are a tax on property,
covering all years of occupation (bar the year in which an escritura
has been issued) in some cases, because of a delay in distribution,
this has initially meant large bills are being received by residents.
The CRA have had enquiries from residents asking if there is any
time limits for paying these bills, the answer is, now, but where
there are cases of hardship a resident can approach the Council
for time to pay, however it has to be expressed that this will
only be granted in cases where there is extreme hardship.
Mary asked Brian if he would ask Councillor Galvez to explain
exactly what the IBI bill covers as there are many people who
for whatever reason are still not aware they have to pay this
tax and furthermore they don’t understand what they are
actually paying for.
Action: Brian Tokely
Access to and from Camposol Sectors B,C & D: Brian reported
that he had discussed with Councillor Galvez the difficulties
residents are experiencing entering and leaving Camposol via the
current access roads. Residents who continue to park on these
access roads are causing great concern and danger to other road
users. Councillor Galvez agreed to ask the Local Police to look
at it.
Brian put forward a suggestion to the committee that if these
access roads were made ‘ONE WAY’ only it would go
some way to alleviating the current problems we are experiencing
and would be much less dangerous for road users. Richard proposed
that the CRA should take this forward for consideration and Barry
seconded it, the rest of the committee agreed with one exception.
Mary asked that if this scheme was adopted that it should be considered
as a temporary solution as these roads were originally built as
‘service roads’ for the commercial centre not ‘access
roads’ and asked that the committee continue to pursue the
building of purpose built access roads as shown on the original
road plans put forward for this area. The committee agreed on
this count.
Action: Brian Tokely to take this forward for consideration and
Barry Cooper to agreed to draw up a plan to illustrate what is
required.
The next meeting with Councillor Galvez will take place on Monday
28th April the agenda agreed by the committee for this meeting
is as follows:
1. Post Boxes for Sectors B,C & D
2. Access roads onto and off of Camposol B,C & D
3. Market/Car Boot Sales on Camposol
4. The provision of Green Bins for garden waste for Sectors B,C
& D
5. Update on Dispensing Farmacia
6. The possibility of a Bus Service for Camposol
Car Boot Sale/Weekly Market: Rathnait asked in the light of the
stopping of the monthly Car Boot Sale on Camposol A if there was
a possibility we could have permission to hold a Weekly Market
coupled with a Monthly Car Boot Sale on the land adjacent to the
Commercial Centre on Sector B. Brian agreed to discuss this with
Councillor Galvez at his next meeting and Mary Cooper agreed to
put it on the agenda for discussion at the next Masa meeting.
Action: Brian Tokely and Mary Cooper
Clean up Camposol: Richard asked if it was time to approach Masa
for a general clean up of Camposol also if residents could be
made aware of the Eco Site provided in Mazarron. The Committee
agreed that this should be done. Rathnait will ensure there is
an article in the next Camposol Courier to support and Mary agreed
to put this on the agenda for the next Masa meeting.
