" A CASE FOR THE LAWYERS" PUBLIC MEETING

In calling the above meeting we all need to deal with FACTS, all rumours, assumptions and prejudices must be ignored. By employing the services of Garrigues, Spain's biggest firm of lawyers, and one of the top 20 in the world, we are assured that there is no conflict of interest with either Masa or Mazarron Council. It is inconceivable that a company of the stature and reputation of Garrigues would present any information that was not FACT.
FACT: In May 2006 the founder members of the CRA Liaison Committee decided to call an election of committee members. They published this FACT in the Courier and on their website. At the same time they invited people to stand for the election by submitting a passport photo and a 100 word CV. These were then published in the June edition of the Courier and on the website. In July's edition of the courier and on the website, the election was announced; provision was made for people to vote by e-mail, post and the ballot box. 16 people put themselves forward and on July 19th 2006, 9 people were duly elected. It is a FACT that this election was both democratic and transparent. In a democratic society it is impossible to please everyone and you cannot force people to vote.
FACT: Only 2 founder members of the original Central Liaison Committee stood for re-election and were among the 9 elected. Within 4 committee meetings of the newly elected committee both of these had resigned. No minutes of previous committee meetings were made available to the new committee. In FACT very little paperwork of any description was handed to the newly elected committee. This meant that the new committee had to start from scratch. It was also necessary to fund and set up a new website.
FACT: Camposol is Murcia's biggest Urbanization; it is probably one of Spain's biggest. It's a FACT that after 9 years plus, apart from water, electric, sewage refuse collection and a Correos service on "A" we have no public or social services. However, we have plenty of commercial services. Camposol has been cut adrift of the mainstream Spanish society. Camposol and the Country Club have fuelled the regeneration of Mazarron and the Port of Mazarron. It is a FACT that Masa and the respective authorities have treated Camposol with contempt and total indifference.
To those people who oppose the CRA you should, with an open mind, consider the following FACTS: By opposing the CRA, you are stating either in part or in full that you are against all the priorities which we have set out in our Statement of Intent and which we believe the people of Camposol deserve.
YOU DECIDE!
FACT: The information to be delivered in the REPORT AND RECOMMENDATIONS by Garrigues should have been in the public domain sometime ago. The residents and owners of Camposol should have addressed these problems long ago. Instead, what can only be described as slanging matches has prevailed? Spin, rumour assumption and prejudice gained respectability in the face of information we have now been given, which is of course not what anybody wanted to hear, but is FACT.
FACT: The current CRA Liaison Committee do not subscribe to the belief that we should do or say nothing!: don't rock the boat!:don't upset people in positions of power! By doing nothing and by saying nothing, IT'S GOT YOU NOTHING,
IN NINE YEARS!
FACT: The owners and residents of Camposol have the opportunity to stand up for their rights, in accordance with Spanish and European law. However, to obtain our rights we must stop the infighting that has prevailed on Camposol for years. The CRA believe that we stand more chance of making headway in terms of what has been highlighted in our "Statement of Intent" as a unified Camposol than we would as a sectional Camposol. Furthermore, the CRA believe we have the opportunity to defeat the injustices of Masa, the Town Council and the Regional Authorities with the assistance of Garrigues. Without them, we don't stand a chance! If we subscribe to a divided Camposol we will slip back into the abyss.
The Public Meeting is scheduled for Saturday 31st March at 11am, duration approximately 2 hours.
The meeting will be a "single item agenda" A CASE FOR THE LAWYERS ".
Garrigues will present a REPORT AND RECOMMENDATIONS based on their investigations into the current state of affairs here on Camposol, then the people of Camposol can have their say.
Due to the limited timescale of the meeting, written questions should be submitted to bmtokely88@hotmail.com or handed to ANY committee member by 21st March 2007 at the latest. TheCRA/Garrigues will answer these questions at the meeting.
Please remember, legal representation does'nt come CHEAP. Please donate what you can to"THE LAWYERS FUND"for the good of yourselves and ALL of Camposol.

14th February. Statement of Intent.

Camposol Residents Association

A Statement of Intent

We the duly elected members of the Camposol Residents Association(CRA) Central Liaison Committee seek to achieve the following for and on behalf of the Urbanization Camposol.
Certificates of Habitacion
Recognising that to achieve these the Local Authority have stated that the following must be completed before they can be granted. Although we are well aware that the Certificate of Habitacion is related to a property not to the infrastructure

Landscaping and completion of all open areas
All roads, kerbs and footpaths
All street lighting, working to a satisfactory standard
Calle signs on all Sectors

-----------------------------------------------------

Medical Centre
Dispensing Pharmacia
Ambulance Station
Police presence 24/7
Sector D Mini Commercial Centre
Post Box security
Official Postal Service by Correos to all sectors
Taxi Rank-Mini bus service
Telefonica/Movistar/Internet service to all sectors
Community Centre
Weekly Camposol Market

This list is the committee's priorities for action plus any recommendations arising from our Lawyers report or issues, as they arise, affecting the welfare of our neighbours on Camposol.
we believe that if most of the above was achieved then Urbanization Camposol would become an even more desirable place to live. It would raise the value of all properties within the urbanization which would benefit all owners. This would also benefit all business interests linked to Urbanization Camposol which would become a role model for other urbanizations throughout the region.
it is vital that the time, energy, enthusiasm and experience of all Camposolers should be harnessed to the achievement of the above ends.

The above is what the Committee stands for, it is just as important to state what we are against:

A divided sectional Camposol

That being said, Camposol has priorities which have been in existance for nine years and we still lack some basic amenities. On a daily basis money pours out of Camposol to our surrounding areas and the Town Hall, but it is impossible to identify almost any direct benefit to the owners, residents and long term renters of our urbanization. We need to achieve what we are entitled to by Spanish and European Law.

We also stand for a real working relationship between us, the Town Hall and Masa. We are totally opposed to any attempt to impose a management agency or worse agencies on Camposol, without open and exhaustive discussion and debate.

1st Feb.Holiday Homes.

After a meeting with Joaquin Ruis ( Garrigues ) this morning, I can advise that there is an easy way to tell if your property has been designated as a holiday home.
If you paid 7% in IVA of the purchase price, it is not a holiday home; and if you paid 16% in IVA of the purchase price, it is a holiday home. Check your escrituras if you have them.
